Tour: Giveaway: Reviews: Book Soundtrack: Relativity and Vitality M.A. George

M.A George is back here!
If you haven't read Proximity (book 1) to get more information on it please go HERE .

For this post I'll be reviewing both Relativity and Vitality so I'll try to keep them short.

M.A. George has built a beautiful new world with this new species that are very human like on the outside and gifted on the inside. There are some more major differences on the inside that I hope you decide to explore by picking up this series. I really enjoy her characters from their adventures on Earth (Proximity) and to Onontian. She created a story that wraps itself around me and doesn't let me go until the end. These are not short books with Proximity at 314 pages, Relativity at 416 pages, and Vitality at 442 pages. Yet, each book took me about half a day to read because I rarely put it down. When I was forced to I put on my wireless headset and listened. I'm a mom of an 8yr old and a 10 yr old so I've had to take care of them and I still was so wrapped up in these books that I just devoured these books! I'd certainly have to pick up any other books she writes in the future because of it. However, do keep in mind these books are more science fiction then romance. For those you of here that prefer it the other way around if you give it a try it may surprise you as the story wraps around you. I love these covers!

Title: Relativity
Author: M.A. George
Pages: 416
Genre:
Science Fiction Romance

We get to know a lot more Onontian in Relativity. It's history, beauty, and it's language all shine as a part of the story.   All 3 books have plenty of sweet romance, mystery, and even action but the action in Relativity has been my favorite as the group's attack on Bito Obo takes place. I do think in all 3 books the romance could be turned up just a notch and still have kept their story a sweet romance, but what I learned from Relativity has helped me see that there is a much bigger picture then just Palta and Aeron (Eric's real name from Proximity) love for each other. It's their entire species survival on the line and they are all stronger as a team because of their love. Granted I wanted to give Aeron a couple of kicks when he acts a little caveman-ish.

The Blurb:
No matter the planet, Palta Capal is an alien.

She’s lived a lifetime where she never belonged…but relocating to the “home world” she’s never seen has her feeling more like an outsider than ever.

Teetering between the thrill of newfound love and the despair of family loss—not to mention the looming threat of global war—Palta doesn’t need any more excitement in her life.

But what she needs and what she gets are two entirely different things.

Title: Vitality Author: M.A. George Pages: 218
 Genre:
Science Fiction Romance

This has to be in my top 5 series of this year! The world that has been created is magnificent! Can I vacation there? The scenery seems to die for! As with the other books in the series you still are on an action packed beautiful journey with Palta and the rest of the cast. They all feel like they've grown in some way especially the bonds between the characters. This book made me laugh and scream at the characters! It was great! We learn even more about the Onontain's including some more language. Trouble always seems to find Palta but I love how she handles it all. This book really brings out the Fringe Science nerd in me. Its inescapable, and I'm not sorry about it. When, not IF, you start reading this series make sure you read it to the end!

The Blurb:
Palta learned long ago not to expect a “normal” life. She’d settle for one free of close encounters with supernaturally-gifted homicidal maniacs.
Apparently that’s too much to ask.
Join your favorite Onontian royal family, as they settle into life at the palace...only don’t get too comfortable, because things are about to take a hair-raising turn.
Vitality is the gripping third installment in the Proximity series.

THE VITALITY SOUNDTRACK BY M.A. GEORGE

The ‘Vitality’ Soundtrack

It’s no secret to those who know me that I’m a wee bit music-obsessed.  I pretty much don’t do anything without background tunes.  So of course I love the idea of giving Vitality its own soundtrack.  Many of the songs that come to mind are on my “writing playlist”…the tunes I listened to most often while churning out the chapters of Vitality.  Here are my top picks:
1. “Dare You To Move”, Switchfoot
I like this one for the opening scene of Vitality, when Palta is having a little difficulty facing a ginormous crowd of onlookers.  (She’s not a big fan of audiences.)
2.  “Anything Could Happen”, Ellie Goulding
This is a fun, lively song that fits perfectly with the cliff-diving scene.  Did I mention Palta has a thing for extreme sports?
3. “Be Calm”, Fun.
This makes me think of the sequence where Palta is worrying about her friend Nangí.  She’s trying to stay calm but failing miserably.
4. “Nothing Left to Say”, Imagine Dragons
There’s a stressful time at the palace when something happens that kind of throws everyone for a loop. (How’s that for dodging a spoiler?)  I don’t know what it is about this song, but it just evokes those feelings of tension and restlessness that remind me of that sequence.
5. “Daylight Robbery”, Imogen Heap
This is an energetic, sort of futuristic song that seems to fit nicely with the time Palta spends with Nangí. There’s just way too much that happens during that time to sum it up…but “energetic and futuristic” fits the profile.
6. “I Won’t Let You Down”, Alex Clare
This is a slower melody that brings to mind Aeron’s emotions when he makes a choice to do something for Palta.  As if there was ever really a doubt in his mind…
7. “Breath of Life”, Florence + The Machine
Palta spends some time on board a ship in less-than-pleasant company.  As much as I love, love, love this song…there’s a darkness to it that fits that sequence nicely.
8. “The End”, My Chemical Romance
There’s a moment (perhaps more than one moment) where Palta comes face-to-face with the end of the road.  “The End” just seems like a great match, both because of the title and the powerful music.  Love MCR.
9. “Matches”, The Format
Forgive my spoiler-sparing vagueness…but there’s a little moment in Vitality where the reality train seems to have left the tracks.  The opening of this song reminds me of circus music…which is pretty much what was running through Palta’s head in that moment.
10. “Good Life”, One Republic
This song just brings a smile to my face.  And it’s what I would imagine rolling with the closing credits for Vitality.

 ABOUT THE AUTHOR

M. A. George is part proud mother of two adorable children, part super top secret agent…Oops, probably just lost that job.

Writing is what keeps her up into the wee hours of the night.  Fortunately, she has a lot of energy (Read: caffeine is her friend).  She has a bit of an obsession with music (It does a fantastic job of tuning out rambunctious children while she attempts to focus).

She sincerely hopes people out there enjoy reading her work as much as she enjoys writing it.  And if anyone hears of work for a super top secret agent, she’s now available (Discretion guaranteed…).
