I gotta say I really enjoyed this book. For those that want to dip their toes into Dark Romance I'd say this is book is a great place to start. It's not too dark so strictly dark romance fans might find it a little light, but I think she stays in the middle of the grey that makes up the Dark Romance spectrum. Regardless of which end of the spectrum you are on regarding Dark Romances the story and characters are stellar!

 We start out meeting Nora, a bright young girl looking forward to what ever the future holds. She gets bored and goes out with a friend in celebration of her soon to be 18th birthday, only to run into a guy at a night club that she finds both attractive and frighting. To me the very start of the book was slow right up until she mets Julian in that club. However, I think the book needs that set up so we get to know Nora a little bit before she is kidnapped. It had a very good purpose, but just wasn't interesting until Julian comes into play. We don't have to wait too long to meet him.

 Once Nora gets kidnapped the book takes off. Right off the bat I hated Julian, was intrigued by him, and loved having a character to hate. I was routing for Nora even when Nora started to waiver. The whole time Nora used her head to try get her freedom back.  I found her to be pretty smart even though she was mostly unsuccessful in everything she tried.  

With all kidnappings you always want to know WHY?  Slowly parts of the answer get revealed as  bits of who he is and his past get revealed. Those bits made my feelings towards him change slightly. Than, his temperament would change and I'd dislike him all over again.  Okay, so he needs a women to kick  his arse for a change, but he wasn't totally a horrible guy. We all love the bad guy that we wish would/could change a few things because the love he has for his women is that strong. So far I don't think Julian is there, but there story doesn't end with book one. Both characters grow/change so with that and with the way the story made my feelings go back and forth I found the book really engaging and enjoying.

If you like Dark Romances I think you'll be pleased with the kidnapping, mind games, coerced consent, BDSM (its on the lighter end, at least to me), Stockholm Syndrome, sexual slavery, romance, action, suspense, and even some funny moments.I know I can't wait to read the next book!

 I LOVE where the story went with this book. All the new technology and the wrap up of all the different plot lines. It is REALLY hard to do a review on series because I don't want to give anything away for those that haven't started yet. I will do my best not to mention anything that is a spoiler to the plot. 

First I love Korum! He isn't human but if he was he'd be one hell of a man! He loves Mia and even though he makes mistakes and isn't perfect he does TRY to see things from her side. Which is why he's able to make some pretty tough choices in this book. We can see how much he's grown in this book and it's all out of his love for Mia. Yes he struggles, but his struggle is good to watch/read.

Mia has also grown a lot in this book. I don't know if it's because of the, you can't talk about that  things that happen in the beginning of this book or if it's entirely an over all growth. Regardless, I love it too. In the beginning of the series she was unsure, young, and scared but she still pushed through everything showing us she was brave. Of course she didn't make all the right choices. If she did we wouldn't have a story. But she is a smart young woman and a strong heroine.  You can tell she's grown into a woman that is now more sure  about what she wants. Even if... shhhhh shut up you can't talk about that either

The tech! Holy Crap!!! Everyone that has seen my reviews for this series before knows I've spoken of a bed that is amazing. All of her tech is awesome. In this book we get more. That's Anna, always giving her readers more of her awesome imagination! Everything seamlessly fits and she writes it in a way that I really believe that anyone can understand how it works. Even if the tech itself is complicated, she makes sure she explains it and we are not left thinking WTF? or WTH?. Instead it leaves me with a feeling of a child playing with a new toy, that happy awestruck wonderment.

Overall, I'm extremely pleased and one hell of a happy reader at the moment. Anna's world building and character building combined with an amazing plot really shines through this entire series. To top it off it is hot, sexy, and leaves in all the naughty good parts!  If you haven't started this series yet and enjoy a hot extraterrestrial romance you MUST start this series!

Naughty Bit! 
Okay, this isn't even the hottest one in the book but it's sexy and gets a lot hotter. You don't get any spoilers here so if you haven't caught up in the series it's safe to read! 
 

“Looks like it’s just us,” Mia said, smiling at Korum. They had just gotten to their own private quarters, complete with a large circular bed similar to the one in Korum’s house.

“Indeed.” His eyes were starting to gleam with the familiar golden light.

Holding his gaze, Mia slowly and deliberately hooked her thumbs under the straps holding up her sundress and pushed them down over her shoulders. 
“Oops,” she whispered. “I can’t seem to take this off. I might need your help . . .”

Korum’s nostrils flared, and she could see the tension invading his muscles. “Come here,” he growled.

Mia shook her head. “No. You come here.” She knew exactly what she wanted, and it did not involve Korum taking over this time.

His eyes narrowed. He looked dangerous now, like a wild predator who couldn’t be controlled, and her heart started beating faster from the thrill of what she was trying to do. “Come,” she repeated, crooking her finger at him.

He came. Or, rather, he practically leapt across the room. In a second, he was next to her, his muscular body large and intimidating, pressing her against the wall. “You need help with this dress, do you?” His fingers tugged at the flimsy straps, the thin material nearly coming apart in his strong hands.

“Yes,” Mia breathed, looking up at him. “I do. Be gentle, though. And after you take it off me, I want you to undress for me.”

His eyes turned almost yellow. “Is that right?”

“That’s right,” Mia said. “And then I want you to lie down on the bed.” Her heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was about to explode, and her body was melting with need. She wanted him badly . . . but on her own terms.

For a second, she thought he wouldn’t comply, but then he took a step back. 
“All right,” he said, his voice unusually rough. “Turn around.”

Mia suppressed a triumphant smile and did as he asked. The dress she was wearing was human-style, with a zipper in the back, and his fingers felt hot on her bare skin as he unzipped it all the way. As soon as he was done, Mia stepped to the side and let the dress drop to the floor. Underneath, she was wearing a tiny blue thong – something she’d put on this morning specifically with Korum in mind.

He sucked in his breath. “Mia . . . You little tease . . .”

She lifted her brows. “You don’t like?” She did a little twirl, pretending not to see the explosive heat in his gaze as he stared at her. 

A muscle pulsed in his jaw. “Are you torturing me?”

“I don’t know,” Mia purred. “Am I?”

If you already have book 1 make sure you update it! She gave it some extra's and changed a some of the sex scenes a little bit. I LOVED it the way it was and haven't checked out the changes myself just yet but I have had word that she actually made them even better then they were before.
